The project is called "Shadowland", which deviates from many of the conventions established by Adobe.
History of Adobe Lightroom
Herasimchuk, Sandy Alves, and Grace Kim, a former interface designer on the Adobe Photoshop team, spent several years in research, until Shadowland took over around 2004, when Herasimchuk chose to leave Adobe Systems. and starting a new business in Silicon Valley. Hamburg started development of the Lightroom project and chose Phil Clevenger, formerly of Kai Krause, to create a new interface for the application.
Photoshop Lightroom developers were among the workers in Minnesota who created the Adobe Image Ready program. This is Troy Gaul, Melissa Gaul and part of their team (Minnesota Phats) and Hamburg as the developers of the architecture behind the application. Also reliable photographer named George Jardine as a product manager.
Initial development (beta) started on January 9, 2006, known as Photoshop Lightroom which was released publicly as Macintosh on the Adobe Labs website. With this development, Adobe uses the method to develop Adobe Photoshop CS3. On January 9, 2006, Adobe announced its acquisition of the technology assets of Pixmantec, developer of RawShooter (image processing software). On July 18, 2006, Beta 3, with added support for Microsoft Windows systems.
Then on September 25, 2006, Beta 4 was released joining the various Photoshop products, followed by a minor update on October 19 as Beta 4.1.
